Hey everybody! I wanted to bring something up, and it’s not an easy thing for anyone to talk about, or witness, due to it impacting on any productive things one does on a daily basis: Sleeping in way too much!
So from what I can tell you here, is likely from some experience, including being a heavy to light sleeper myself, to some people’s parents averaging a total of 12-16 hours of sleep in total, every day. Understanding is one thing, but willfully not wanting to wake up when there are things to do, tasks to be completed, housework to be done… It can all fall behind into a backlog!
Maybe there is some other underlying problem, could it be depression or some other mental health disorder? I think so. Occasionally I get/feel the blues, but that doesn’t stop me from hauling my butt out of bed. I do that, I remain awake, alert and I keep the brain of mine occupied.
Remember this: We are not animals that hibernate for months on end! We have a family to raise, a job to go to, and work to be done, even if it’s once a day! There’s books to read, exercise to be done, even if it’s as cold as an ice cave outside. We have to keep going on.
What I can suggest and advise, is to talk to somebody especially if the oversleeping, or willful oversleeping (you don’t want to get out of bed at all!) Is becoming a big problem! DON’T deny it. You need that help. It’s a little something that can improve everything for your own well-being and health.
Anyways, just wanted to make a new post, to indicate that this blog is not “dead” at all.
Cheers! Feel free to share/e-mail this post.

Visiting the family in Pickering, Picking street apples, doing nothing for two days straight and free soda!Posted: August 21, 2012 | |
Okay, so this blog entry starts out when I woke up on a Saturday morning, eating somewhat of a good meal and then heading on a long 5 hour trip to Pickering to see my aunt, uncles and relatives. It was a damn good trip and I sure got a workout, not as much as going to and from Oshawa, but a good enough one to tire me out both ways. I got there, only after meeting them at Pickering GO station, thanks to the pedestrian overpass that allows cyclists to cross too, also extremely thankful it had elevators. Who wants to haul a bike 9 stories up? I wouldn’t. Lol
Okay, when I got there, we mostly spent the time outside talking. My my, the youngsters sure grew up fast! At age 12, they’re getting older and mature, which is a good thing. None of their childhood is missing or lost out, I’d be disappointed if it were. Nice nieces, beautiful ones. I saw the dogs as soon as I got inside, bunch of cute chihuahuas. The birds, a few finches and parrotletts, were ultimately cute. I didn’t get the chance to hold them due to the dogs, as they’d be hunted down. I talked up a damn thunderstorm with everybody and spilled out tons of information and stories of my biking experiences and may have inspired more of the family to bring out the bicycles to work out more.
Then we ordered KFC, oh the salty, sodium goodness, so much it burned a damn hole in my tongue!! Kidding, but it stung pretty good. I wish they would ease up on the damn salt. It’s in the batter, the oil, barely enough spices, just SALT, SALT AND MOAR SALT!!!!!!!11 …okay, whatever. I ate it anyways, needed the energy and couldn’t say no to uncle john for buying it for everybody. My main gripe is with KFC, but that’s all. It was GOOD nonetheless. Now, upon wrapping things up, when it got dark outside, we discussed other things I can’t mention, personal shit, you know. Internet video was discussed, youtube issues too, including false flagging, which they were quite aware of and shocked to find out I lost 17 channels due to it. glares at googletube staff for neglecting everything.
Finally, it was time to go. I didn’t want to leave to be honest, but they had to go to bed and my aunt had to go back to the airport for the return trip to halifax, which was all day sunday. So upon arguing and convincing everybody that I’d be fine with biking all the way back home, it they finally agreed. It took quite a bit of talking them into it and that was NOT an easy task. So once they got in the car, I biked to altonia ave and headed north to Finch, what I thought would go straight west into toronto, didn’t. It went north to steeles, which had no streetlights of any kind. So I scrapped it. I had to turn back and try twyn rivers road. Shame, that dumped into a BIG conservation park, I didn’t want to fly down a hill at over 120 km/h at night. Hell no.
So I took the route back to kingston road, then went to sheppard, the other side of the park and discovered an apple tree, two of them to be exact, with mclintosh apples. DAMN!! CAN’T GO WRONG WITH FREE FRESH UNMODIFIED FRUIT!! 😀 I went picking. I can recall I must have gone overboard, because I had over 40 in the basket. I had to then lug it all home without losing any of it due to all of the pot holes, sink holes and all that on some roads. That went successfully. I got home with a sore, aching back. The apples, still fresh, are in a basket. I’m thinking of going back there next week to collect more, at a time I’m more in shape. That is going to be rock solid FUN! Who doesn’t like picking them.
By the time I got home, it was well into 3:00am, into the morning. I ate again like a horse, well, had a small snack and then, passed out to bed. I woke up the following day, didn’t do much at all, just managed a few things online and cleaned out some bad window managers and shit from Linux and streamlined some things desktop wise.
Today, being a Monday, I didn’t do much at all either, except create a facebook, and yahoo mail account for somebody who needed it, but didn’t have access to a computer with an internet connection. Their phone they’re borrowing, has web access, just not full access. So I did them a favor. It took a while to come up with a strong password and complex security questions/answers, but it finally got done. I felt so good to do so.
Then, afterwards, headed down on the bike to check out what I thought was a grape vine a few months ago, turned out to be not more than a barry vine. Tough shit, I didn’t get any fucking grapes!!! RAEG!! Lol! So I decided to head into the downtown sector via the lakeshore/waterfront/martin goodman trail. It didn’t take long, had to detour a few times due to some closures, that didn’t phase me a bit. I then, once I got to yonge street, tore after mcdonalds to get a free soda and make a pit stop. I then proceeded to upload TWO videos, which are going to be after all this, for your viewing pleasure, of what I spotted on the bridge that crosses the humber river. Nice squids to be honest, LED ones, well, inside LED’s illuminated them. Artistic to the max!
Now, I’m about to head home to get some much needed rest. Thank you so very much for reading!! DO be sure to share, like and spread this blog entry around on the interwebs, good and bad, evil or funny, I don’t care. Just need people to read and comment. PEACE!!!
Oh and here are the videos:
